In our last Tech Talk, we discussed the difference between running a fixture at full load or dynamic load. This week we’re going to cover the new terminology for LED Neon Flex fixtures that comes along with the new part number naming conventions.
When scanning our Spec Sheets, you may notice that “bending” has been replaced by “view”. This change comes alongside the new part numbers. The new terminology refers to the side of the fixture that emits light relative to the PCB.
The new terminology is based on the fact that the circuit board in a fixture is always in the vertical position as shown below:
We took out the term “bending” because based on this fact, there is only one way to bend the circuit board. As shown below, you would bend the fixture along the width of the circuit board.
“Top View” and “Side View” then refer to the position of the light emitting surface. Depending on the location of the diffuser, the fixture is either side or top view:
What about Vivid Wave 320? Because of the location of the light emitting sides, this is a Side View fixture!
How does this relate to our old terms? What used to be Vertical Bending is now Side View, and what used to be Horizontal Bending is now Top View.
Nothing! All of our fixtures as well as their accessories remain the same. All that’s different with the new terminology is the way we describe our fixtures. We’re happy to be rolling out this change with the new part numbers in the efforts of making our system more uniform!
